Asha Lunarzewski born in Poland, completed her Master Degree in Music at the Silesian University. During her studies Asha sung with many known jazz bands performing in various countries around Europe. Having immigrated to Australia in 1992, Asha decided to continue studies and was awarded a Bachelor of Music from the University of Newcastle Conservatorium. A classically trained vocalist and music teacher, Asha can capture the essence of almost any genre of music. Her staggering vocal range and entertaining abilities are perhaps her greatest attributes. She is an artist, with a wealth of experience ranging from opera, musicals, theatre, cabaret and popular music. She was for six years in “Chocolate” whose performances are known for their power and excitement. In 2007 and July 2008 Asha was playing the main role in the 20th Century musical “Drusella and Hagatha” as ‘ugly’ sister Drusella. The play was nominated in Newcastle CONDA Awards for the best professional play in 2007. Based in Newcastle, Asha performs extensively throughout Australia for both Polish and Australian communities in range of cultural and entertainment events. She is also permanent member or the music teaching staff at St. Pius X High School and since starting there in 2001 has developed a strong vocal department based on effective use of technology, and performance based teaching. Recently released her first original CD and got Third place in a national song competition in Poland. |
